SLU-PP-915 belongs to a new generation of synthetic compounds being studied for their ability to activate estrogen-related receptors ERRα, ERRβ, and ERRγ. These nuclear receptors play an important role in the regulation of mitochondrial function, cellular energy utilization, fatty-acid oxidation, and oxidative metabolism.
Despite their name, estrogen-related receptors are not classical estrogen receptors and are not activated by estrogen.
What Makes SLU-PP-915 Different from SLU-PP-332?
Both SLU-PP-915 and SLU-PP-332 are pan-ERR agonists, meaning that they activate all three major ERR isoforms. They should not, however, be viewed simply as different versions or strengths of the same compound.
SLU-PP-332 is the earlier and more extensively studied research compound. Preclinical studies in mice have associated it with activation of exercise-related metabolic pathways, increased energy expenditure, enhanced fatty-acid oxidation, improved exercise capacity, and reduced fat accumulation.
SLU-PP-915 is a chemically distinct compound developed using a different molecular scaffold. Its primary advantage is oral activity: it was specifically developed to improve drug-like properties and has demonstrated oral bioavailability and in-vivo activity in animal research.

SLU-PP-332 is the earlier research prototype with a larger body of preclinical metabolic data.
SLU-PP-915 is a newer, chemically distinct pan-ERR agonist developed as an orally active research candidate.
Recent preclinical research found that orally administered SLU-PP-915 enhanced aerobic exercise capacity and activated gene pathways associated with mitochondrial and oxidative metabolism in mice.
